well in the beginning…there were just sketches… |
…then the first foam cement prototypes were made… |
which were then cut from solid marble blocks… |
and eventually we made the first marble prototype… |
only to realize that it was too heavy for most doors…. so we tried again trying to keep the weight parameter in our minds… simpler and lighter designs… |
they too, were prototyped in foam cement and later in marble… |
the first marble I – beam was made, followed by the first series of prototypes, all made using traditional equipment… |
then, we started trying to reach their breaking points…It turned out that although they eventually did break, this only happened when excessive pressure was applied to a single fixing point…When the door pull was properly placed on a door it could take all the punishment we could give it… |
however, although found the breaking points, we discovered that even the best efforts using traditional tools, were lacking in accuracy. We then turned towards automated CNC milling production…new prototypes, new problems…
our first CNC door pull fresh out of the machine… |
then we finally resolved the accuracy problem and even made dimension control templates to certify the exact dimensions with 0,5 mm tolerance. |
once the accuracy problem was solved the next one was the secure fixing of the door pulls… back to the drawing board…and screen…. |
in the same way we have tested all the materials and components that go into our products, and here we are… the first production level prototypes… |
